April 2024: Roundtable with Regional Senior Commercial Services Officer from U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi – AmCham members from diverse business sectors came together in a roundtable discussion.
May 2024: Reception with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Delegation – AmCham members were invited to attend an exclusive evening reception that saw attendance from U.S. Ambassador to Qatar, Qatar Ambassador to U.S., Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration at the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), representatives of Qatari ministries and U.S. Embassy Doha staff, as well as other prominent private and public sector representatives.
May 2024: The fourth Qatar Economic Forum powered by Bloomberg explored the issues driving global boardroom conversations and spotlighted the Gulf’s rising prominence. In a region where ambition converges with capital, key states are strategically deploying wealth to enhance their global influence, diversify economies and gain international prominence. The Forum, an exclusive convening of diverse international perspectives, explored the Gulf’s strategic standing as we navigate this year of more than 50 nations bracing for elections.
May 2024: Education and Private Sectors Roundtable – AmCham members from educational institutions and private sector came together to discuss offerings and needs as it pertains to internships, work-based learning, mentorships, and ways the private sector can be more involved with entering the classroom to help develop a knowledge and skills-based economy. This meeting also saw attendance from the International Labor Organization (ILO), Jusour, and MCIT’s Studio 5. This initiative will continue to develop under the guidance of the Education and Skills and Development Committee.
June 2024: Healthcare and Insurance Roundtable – AmCham members representing insurance, healthcare facilities, and legal firms came together to discuss the challenges and impact of Law No. 22 of 2021, which created Qatar’s Mandatory Health Insurance Scheme, was published in November 2021, and came into partial effect in May 2022. This meeting also saw attendance from Commercial Services, U.S. Embassy Doha. This initiative will continue to develop under the guidance of the Insurance and Healthcare Committee.
July 2024: The Competition for Talent, Upcoming Elections, and the Digital Transformation: Key Issues Impacting Immigration and Mobility Policies – In collaboration with AmCham member Fragomen, we welcomed their Chief Knowledge Officer, Scott Leeb, who presented on topics covering key issues impacting immigration and mobility policies and how these trends are changing worldwide.
August 2024: Hotel, Travel, and Tourism Roundtable – AmCham members representing hotels and resorts were joined by representatives from Qatar Living, Premier Fintech, Falcon Travel, and BITE Entertainment to discuss the challenges and opportunities to promote Qatar as a top destination for business conferences and travel, as well as leisure entertainment. This initiative will continue to develop under the guidance of the Hospitality Committee.
September 2024: Optimizing AI Governance Webinar – AmCham members heard from Mohamed ElBaih, a visiting scholar at the George Washington University Law School – GW Center for Technology and Data Privacy Legal Consultant for the International Finance Corporation, member of The World Bank Group. He presented on topics covering global AI regulatory landscape, benefits of consistent AI governance, and enhancing R&D and Innovation through governance alignment.

February 2025: A Webinar in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar.
“Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR).” The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR) and its role in facilitating digital trade. It highlighted key developments and initiatives related to the local implementation of MLETR in Qatar.

“International Stability Operations Association Conference,” held at Le Royal Meridien Place Vendome.

March 2025: National Development Forum
AmCham Qatar Executive Director and Board of Governors members attended the National Planning Council’s ‘National Development Forum’.
The forum brought together key Qatari government officials and private sector leaders to discuss Qatar’s vision for how the private sector can play a pivotal role in achieving the National Development Strategy.

March 2025: Inter-council Annual Suhoor
“Ramadan Suhoor 2025,” held at the St. Regis Doha. This special evening brought together members from over 10 councils and chambers to gather in the spirit of Ramadan.
April 2025: Hosted by Qatar International Academy for Security Studies in collaboration with AmCham Qatar
“AI Workshop: Balancing Innovation & Compliance in AI: A Practical Approach,” held at Qatar International Academy for Security Studies (Lusail). AmCham members and partners from across the MENA region joined in person and online for this informative workshop.
The session featured insights from Mr. Mohamed ElBaih, a distinguished Visiting Scholar from The George Washington University Law School, with extensive experience in AI, privacy law, and cybersecurity policy.
The agenda included an in-depth exploration of risk management methodologies such as the NIST framework, compliance considerations under the EU AI Act, and strategies for building adaptable AI governance frameworks. Through case studies and expert-led discussions, participants explored how businesses can responsibly deploy AI technologies while aligning with both local and international regulatory guidelines.
April 2025: Hospitality and Tourism Committee Meeting
AmCham Qatar’s Hospitality and Tourism Committee was hosted by committee Chair, Le Royal Meridien. Led by Mulit-Property General Manager, Radek Cais, the meeting gathered representatives from Visit Qatar, Discover Qatar/Qatar Holidays, QNCC, Place Vendome, Waldorf Astoria Lusail, and M+C Saatchi. With tourism being a priority sector of growth for Qatar, the committee will be leading initiatives and discussions to play in role in helping achieve Qatar’s 2030 Vision.
April 2025: Hosted by Sidra, in collaboration with AmCham Qatar
“Meeting of Minds for Business Leaders,” held at Sidra Medicine. AmCham Healthcare and Insurance Committee members attended a meeting in collaboration with Sidra Medicine. The discussion centered around the mandatory healthcare insurance scheme and three core pillars of consideration: (1) mapping the healthcare system, (2) governance, and (3) regulation of insurers to unify language, coding, and packages.
April 2025: QFC Annual Ambassador Dialogue
Qatar Financial Center hosted its annual Ambassadors’ Breakfast at Sanad Doha, bringing together ambassadors from key global markets and heads of bilateral business councils and chambers of commerce in Qatar.
The gathering fostered meaningful discussions and strengthened ties across the diplomatic and business communities, offering exclusive insights into the latest developments shaping Qatar’s business ecosystem, including Qatar Development Bank and Jusour.
April 2025: Hosted by OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council)
“OSAC Qatar: Fraud Prevention Trends: New Challenges and How to Overcome them”. OSAC Qatar hosted speakers from AmCham Qatar members Ernst & Young and The Bridge Co.
EY highlighted the latest fraud statistics and the new technologies being launched to detect and prevent fraud. The Bridge Co. presented a historical overview of Syria’s leadership transition followed by a discussion on the current challenges of rebuilding the country’s infrastructure.

SelectUSA Investment Summit: 11th edition held at the Gaylord Palms National Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland, USA. AmCham Qatar’s Executive Director accompanied the Qatari delegation attending the summit. 33 delegates representing private and public sectors in Qatar participated in 3.5 days of informative sessions, networking, and visiting economic development organizations in the exhibition hall.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the highest profile event in the United States to facilitate business investment by connecting thousands of investors, companies, economic development organizations (EDOs), and industry experts to make deals happen.

May 2025:Qatar Economic Forum
AmCham Qatar representatives were invited to attend the 5th edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, programmed by Bloomberg News.
The Qatar Economic Forum convened world leaders and international CEOs who provided unique perspectives on one of the most profound shifts in global money flows to date. For decades a dominant energy supplier to the world, the Gulf is now transforming into one of the global centers of financial power as well. Gulf sovereign wealth funds now stand as the bankers to the world while pro-business reforms have transformed the region into a dynamic FDI hub. Strategic choices made in the region have a global impact.
From the opening address from H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, to conversations with Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, CEO of Qatar Investment Authority, the forum was packed with sessions on economic diversification, geopolitical impact on trade and supply chains, and the future of AI.
May 2025:ICC Qatar: Environment & Energy Commission Kick-off Meeting
AmCham Qatar’s Executive Director attended the kick-off meeting for the Environment & Energy Commission which is designed to serve as the country’s premier private sector platform for action and policy engagement on sustainable energy and environmental issues.
AmCham Qatar members have been invited to be private sector leaders by participating in working groups.

In collaboration with the DTiK (World Turkish Business Council), AHK (German Industry and Commerce), CCI France, and QBBF, AmCham Qatar co-hosted an evening where business leaders and embassy commercial counselors gathered for sector table talks and networking.

AmCham’s Board of Governors and Executive Director had the opportunity to host a farewell breakfast for Ambassador Timmy Davis. June 2025:AmCham Qatar Hospitality and Tourism Committee Meeting
Led by committee Chair Radek Cais, Multi-property GM of Le Royal Meridien, and hosted by Andrew Steele, Managing Director, Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha. The committee continued their discussion on strategy and mapping for placing Qatar at the forefront as a tourist destination, not just for leisure, but also for business.
June 2025:AmCham Qatar and Education Above All Collaboration Signing
AmCham Qatar, through its network of members, will provide Qatar Scholarship scholars and alumni with information and access to internships, employment opportunities, and professional training programs. This support will help them build their skills, gain practical experience, and grow professionally as they pursue careers in Qatar and across the MENA region.

Mr. Scott Wilcox, founder of Sicuro Group, and his team led a webinar on how to support our members and partners in Qatar and across the MENA to lead calmly and effectively in uncertain times.
Scott presented a focused, non-alarmist session on how companies and individuals can stay prepared during periods of disruption—without overreacting.

July 2025:AmCham Joins International Chambers and Business Councils to Boost Business Cooperation and Engage with Ashghal on Future Projects.
AmCham Qatar Executive Director, Chairman, and Vice Chairman participated in an initiative that united a select group of international chambers and business councils in Qatar for a meeting with top level management in Ashghal (Public Works Authority).
The presentation from Ashghal offered insights into project priorities under their five-year plan, a better understanding of their strategic direction, and discussed potential areas for collaboration.
This meeting marked an important first step toward establishing a platform where our members can have opportunities for ongoing dialogue and cooperation, with a focus on digital and technological transformation in line with Ashghal’s goals.

July 2025:Briefing by U.S. Chamber of Commerce: The Latest on Tariffs and FCPA Enforcement
A briefing with U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President and Head of International John Murphy and the U.S. Chamber team on recent tariff developments introduced by the Trump administration. The webinar included an extended session with John R. Lausch, Jr., and Brian A. Benczkowski of Kirkland & Ellis for a briefing on the outcomes of the recently completed Trump Administration review of enforcement priorities for the Foreign Corruption Prevention Act (FCPA).
September 2025:NES workshop on Managing a Compliant Workforce in Qatar
Corporate member NES sponsored an event in collaboration with AmCham Qatar and Qatar British Business Forum to host a workshop on workforce compliance in Qatar. The workshop was a practical and engaging session focused on exploring key challenges, common mistakes, and solutions in workforce compliance. The workshop explored case studies that delved into key aspects of managing a compliant workforce in Qatar which included:
• Understanding the risks and penalties associated with allowing individuals to commence work if they are not fully compliant
• Best practices for handling visas correctly and in accordance with local regulations

October 2025:AmCham Qatar Hospitality and Tourism Committee Meeting
Committee meeting was held at Rosewood Hotel where AmCham Qatar welcomed new committee member, Mr. Mohammed Abdulhameed Al-Emadi, Director, Development, Planning & Permitting of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. The committee continued discussions on placing Qatar at the forefront of business and residential investment driven by tourism. Locations like Lusail create a complete experience that integrates entertainment, culture, luxury shopping, wellness, and spectacular food and beverage outlets all within a walk, a short drive, or a metro stop.

November 2025:AmCham Qatar Meets with U.S. Council for International Business
AmCham Qatar hosted representatives from the United States Council for International Business (USCIB). AmCham Qatar board and Chairman’s Circle members were invited to hear from Kristen Edgreen Kaufman, Senior Vice President-Global Impact Initiatives for USCIB, and Norine Kennedy, Senior Vice President for Global Strategy and United Nations Affairs and Executive Director of The USCIB Foundation.
They shared details about USCIB’s powerful and influential voice for U.S. industries in the global arena, advocating in favor of open markets, sustainable development, clean and just economy, and a level playing field. Conventions, forums, and treaties at the international level can impact everything from corporate taxation on global revenues to the sustainability of operations to liability for foreign supply chains. With so much at stake, it is imperative that US businesses are represented during every phase of policy negotiations. USCIB has a vote in the U.N. No other U.S. business organization has their unique access to international policymakers and regulatory authorities.
